The second phase investment of $25 million delivered the redevelopment of cancer services which provided improved care for oncology patients and increased access to patient support services (Phase 2, 2013-14).
These works included:
- a bunker for a new linear accelerator machine for the delivery of radiation therapy
- renovation of the day chemotherapy unit providing additional treatment chair capacity and patient and family space
- renovation of the multidisciplinary outpatient cancer centre and
- development of the cancer support centre for people affected by a diagnosis of cancer.
