The construction of K-Block is creating jobs and providing opportunities for local businesses. The RHH Redevelopment project will generate around $1.6 billion in economic benefit to the State and the Managing Contractor has estimated that the construction of K-Block alone will generate 400 direct jobs.
Tasmanian firms have been working on the RHH Redevelopment in the areas of construction, architecture, engineering and building surveying.
The Managing Contractor, John Holland Fairbrother Joint Venture, is responsible for managing the construction of K-Block and the procurement of sub-contractors. This is conducted in accordance with Tasmanian Government procurement policy and appropriate pre-qualification with the Department of Treasury and Finance as required.
The Managing Contractor works closely with the ICN Gateway to maximise opportunities for local businesses. Works packages are posted on the ICN Gateway and the capability data held on registrants is considered.
Subcontractors who believe they have the capacity to work on the RHH Redevelopment project are encouraged to register with the ICN Gateway to ensure their details are available to the Managing Contract in addition to being advised of relevant upcoming opportunities.
For more information see the Industry Capability Network's 'ICN Gateway' portal http://gateway.icn.org.au
Please note that the ICN is not an individual recruitment solution. If you are an individual looking for work you will need to contact subcontractors and suppliers directly in your field of expertise.
