Construction Opportunities for Tasmanian Businesses

Tasmanian businesses are strongly encouraged to register their interest in tenders for the
RHH Redevelopment project to be advertised by the Managing Contractor from this weekend.

On Saturday, 12 March 2016, the sub-contract for temporary protective gantries will be advertised. This includes work to design, make, install and dismantle the gantries when construction is completed.

The installation of these protective gantries will make the existing buildings safer for patients and staff during construction.

On Saturday, 19 March 2016, four sub-contracts will be advertised: piling works; bulk excavation, concrete sub-structure; and retaining wall/site retention systems works.

These sub-contracts will prepare the site on Campbell Street for the construction of K-Block after B-Block is demolished.

Excavation and removal of materials from the site will allow for initial construction works for K-Block to commence.

The first works on site will include detailed excavation and concrete works, construction of perimeter retaining walls and performing of bored pier and piling works which will hold the future K-Block.

Tenders for these site works is another exciting milestone in the construction of Tasmania's new state-of-the-art health facility

The project recently successfully completed the installation of the modules for the temporary inpatient facility in the Royal's Liverpool Street forecourt.

Over the coming months, inpatients will move into newly refurbished patient and clinical areas allowing for demolition to B-Block to commence from April 2016.

Opportunities will be advertised on the Tasmanian Government Tenders website.

Tasmanian companies can register their interest through the Industry Capability Network.

The Managing Contractor for the RHH Redevelopment project is the John Holland Fairbrother Joint Venture.

The $689 million RHH Redevelopment is a jointly funded Australian and Tasmanian Government initiative.
